Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about AI coaching, my approach, and what to expect from our work together. Don't see your question? Just ask!
Lifelong learners who want to understand and collaborate with AI as a creative partner. Whether you're a skeptical engineer, purpose-driven creator, team leader, or helping professional, my coaching focuses on building judgment and confidence in using AI tools effectively. You don't need technical experience - just curiosity and openness to exploring new ways of working.
This is individualized, confidential coaching focused on your specific challenges and goals. Key differences include:
- One-on-one attention tailored to your learning style and needs
- Hands-on work with your actual challenges, not generic examples
- Plain language explanations regardless of your technical background
- Complete confidentiality - you can share sensitive work challenges
- Focus on developing judgment and creativity, not just tool usage
Not at all. My approach uses plain language and focuses on practical applications. Whether you're highly technical or completely new to AI, we'll work at a pace and depth that serves your learning style. I've successfully coached everyone from senior engineers to artists to executives, adapting my communication and examples to match your background and interests.
Absolutely. Everything we discuss in our sessions remains completely confidential. You can share openly about your challenges, projects, proprietary work, and goals without any concerns about privacy or competitive sensitivity. This confidential environment enables deeper, more effective coaching because we can work with your real challenges rather than hypothetical examples.
It varies based on your goals and learning style. Some clients get immediate value from a single session, while others work with me over several months to deeply integrate AI tools into their workflow. During our discovery chat, we'll discuss what approach makes sense for your specific situation. There's no pressure to commit to multiple sessions - we can proceed one session at a time.
Every session is different, but here's a typical flow:
- Brief check-in on your current challenges and goals
- Hands-on work with AI tools relevant to your situation
- Practical exercises using your actual work examples
- Discussion of strategies and best practices
- Planning next steps and identifying resources
The focus is always on practical application rather than theoretical discussion.
Minimal preparation is needed, but these help maximize our time:
- Think about 1-2 specific challenges or goals you'd like to address
- If possible, bring examples of your actual work (documents, projects, workflows)
- Consider what AI tools, if any, you've already tried
- Prepare questions about areas where you feel stuck or curious
Don't worry about having everything figured out - part of coaching is helping you clarify your goals and priorities.
We focus on the tools most relevant to your work and interests. This might include:
- Prompt engineering and conversation design techniques
- Workflow optimization and automation strategies
- Creative collaboration techniques with AI
- Document analysis and content generation
- Strategic AI integration planning
- Tool selection and evaluation frameworks
The specific tools we explore depend on your goals - always with hands-on practice and real-world applications.
Rather than focusing on specific platforms, I emphasize developing your ability to evaluate, experiment with, and integrate new AI capabilities as they emerge. We'll certainly work with current tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or others relevant to your needs, but the larger goal is building your judgment and adaptability so you can thrive as the AI landscape continues evolving.
Four decades in technology has taught me to focus on fundamental principles rather than chasing every new tool. I maintain awareness of major developments through research, experimentation, and my network of AI practitioners. More importantly, I help you develop the frameworks and judgment to evaluate new tools yourself, so you're not dependent on any single person or resource for staying current.
I offer two session lengths:
- 30 minutes: $125 - Perfect for focused questions or follow-up sessions
- 60 minutes: $200 - Recommended for first-time clients or complex challenges
Sliding scale pricing is available for those who need it. I also offer custom packages for teams. Visit the pricing page for complete details.
Start by booking a brief discovery chat to discuss your goals and determine if coaching is a good fit. If we decide to move forward, I'll send you a scheduling link to book your first session. All sessions are conducted via video call at times convenient for both of us. Payment is processed securely through Stripe when you book.
If you're not satisfied with our session, I'll work with you to make it right or provide a full refund. My goal is your success, and I stand behind the value of our coaching work together. However, this has rarely been an issue because we start with a discovery chat to ensure we're a good match before you invest in a full session.
